New Police Minister Reece Whitby has defended the government’s approach to prohibiting rapid release firearms despite criticisms regarding the communication and rollout.

He told 6PR Today, he knows most gun owners believe in safety and are good people.

“Everyone’s situation is very different, so it’s very hard to have a one-message-fits-all approach,” he said.
