Police are searching for a “male on a bike” after a series of fires in Morley in Perth’s north-east overnight.

Arson detectives said eight homes were targeted with seven cars and a boat set on fire.

It’s believed the first house that was targeted is on Red Gum Way.

Nine News Reporter Zarisha Bradley told Oliver Peterson there’s been a trail of destruction.

“A man’s work van has been completely torched,” she said.

“And we’ve had a chat with a wife and the five-year-old son … they’re still in shock, she feared for her son’s life last night, it came just centimetres from the house.”
