The WA Police Union is calling for tougher prison sentences for offenders who ram into officers.

It comes after 34 year-old Kaine Buress was seriously injured in a ramming attack south of Mandurah in January.

Acting Police Union president Paul Gale told Gary Adshead 6PR Mornings mandatory sentences of up to ten years behind bars should be considered.
