Last week, on 6PR Drive, a Northbridge venue owner and councillor spearheaded a push for improved communication between the licensing authority and venues in relation to Protected Entertainment Precincts laws, aiming to ensure venues have the necessary, up-to-date information on people who have been banned, to prevent their entry.

Today, acting Commissioner Kylie Whiteley told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont about the police’s position on the proposal.

“We would absolutely support some sort of opportunity for some sort of network or scanning of identification and/or have that sort of information available to all licensees, it would make it a much more effective process,” she said.
