Julie-anne Sprague

Australian Test cricketer Bruce Yardley has died after a long battle with cancer.

The West Australian, a veteran of 33 Test matches between 1978 and 83, died in hospital earlier today at the age of 71.

Yardley was part of a Test team that at times included seven West Australians.
