WorkSafe charges over death of Wesley Ballantine

WorkSafe has laid charges over the death of a 17-year-old worker who fell through a skylight on a CBD building site.

Wesley Ballantine died in 2017 while working at the old GPO building in Forrest Place.

Valmont WA – the main contractor for a stage of the project, Wesley’s employer Industrial Construction Services, and the company’s director and manager have all been charged.

Wesley’s mum Regan Ballantine spoke to Gareth Parker, saying she’s satisfied that WorkSafe has delivered to the highest level within its power.
