What is the Mandela Effect?

Have you ever heard something on the enws or in a book and been taken aback because it’s not how you remember it happening? You’re not alone. Thousands of people remember South African freedom fighter and later president, Nelson Mandela, dying in prison during the 1980s, when he was really freed in 1990.

Others remember the on-screen death of Radar O’Reilly in the iconic series *M*A*S*H*, the death of Betty White, and various other misrememberings which is collectively called the Mandela Effect..
