From December 5, it will be mandatory for West Australians to check-in at hospitality venues to improve contact tracing capabilities in the event of a coronavirus outbreak.

The SafeWA app will be used to help contact trace people in some public spaces including:

• food and licensed venues
• gyms, indoor sporting centres and pools
• places or worship and funeral parlours
