WA farmers hitting the road to help out on Kangaroo Island

One of the men behind a relief mission to assist in the bushfire rebuild on Kangaroo Island says he was keen to give back.

The first of two teams of farmers are preparing to head east this weekend – taking part in WA Fencing Farmers.

Materials are being supplied – however those involved will volunteer their time for the next month – to help locals get back on their feet.

Organiser Sam Burgess says they thought they’d end up with a dozen people heading over – but they’re secured the support of around 70 fellow farmers from across the state.
