WA mining magnate Andrew Forrest is seeking to raise the legal age of smoking to 21, and pursue legal action against the tobacco industry for the suffering its caused to Australians.

Peter Leedman, from Forrest’s Eliminate Cancer Initiative, told Mornings with Gareth Parker the change could have a profound impact on smoking rates.

University of Tasmania Research Mai Frandsen then joined Mornings, for details on her study into the effectiveness of paying smokers to quit.
