Think you can survive on five hours sleep? Think again.

US researchers have found regularly having four or five hours sleep a night increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and early death.

Psychologist and well-being advisor Dr Marny Lishman spoke to Karl O’Callaghan to explain what the impact can be from having too little sleep.

“Sleep is a chance for our body to recharge and restore.

“If we are not replenishing our body with sleep, we’re going to be totally out of balance and that’s going to cause not only psychical health disorders but psychological as well.”
