“Think before you fuel with BP”

Monday means cheaper petrol, but the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union is asking motorists to think before they fuel with BP.

Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union Secretary Steve McCartney spoke to Oliver Peterson today to tell the listeners that workers at the BP refinery in Kwinana are under attack. BP are offering long-term employees a ‘take it or leave it’ deal with a 30 per cent pay cut and the loss of conditions.

Mr McCartney says they’re being told they’re required to reapply for their jobs and accept a loss of their pay and conditions with a new contractor. There’s no guarantee they’ll retain their jobs.
