21 year-old bricklaying apprentice Monique Juratovac says she hasn’t looked back since leaving the beauty industry for the construction industry two years ago.

This month, Monique won the best Second-Year Apprentice category as well as the Judges Excellence in Endeavour Award at the Housing Industry Association WA Apprentice Awards, as well as the regional category in the 2019 WorldSkills Australia awards.

She told Gareth Parker she hopes to encourage other women to get a trade.
