“The humanity the insurance company showed should not be underplayed”

Former AFL player Shaun Smith has won a $1.4 million concussion damages payout due to brain injuries suffered while playing football.

Smith’s payout was through a personal insurance protection policy.

Smith’s manager and veteran player agent Peter Jess says the insurance provider showed great humanity by delivering the payout – which he says is in contrast to the AFL’s actions in relation to the lasting damage caused by head injuries.
