The Ghost Town of Big Bell

Big Bell is a ghost town in the Murchison District of WA.  The town was established in 1936 and was home to the Big Bell Gold Mine.

Gold was discovered in the area in 1904 with the mine being established shorlty after. A population of 850 soon populated the town.  Mining ceased there in 2003.

Lorraine Kelly, Author of Goldfield Stories: Early Days in Western Australia spoke to us about this lost town.
