A “holographic doctor” has been launched in Perth allowing patients to be visited by healthcare professionals without leaving their home.

Dr Christopher McGowan, Silver Chain CEO, told 6PR Breakfast: “what you see is that doctor sitting next to you at the kitchen table. You can get up, you can walk around them, they’re talking to you, it’s something like out of Star Trek.”

Perth will be one of the first in the world to receive the high tech healthcare which is only months away.

“We did the global launch in Orlando; Microsoft had us up there with their global innovation conference last week, so we thought we’d take the wrappers off it here,” Dr McGowan told Steve and Baz.
