Sporting stars should not queue jump

Oliver Peterson

The NRL will ask the Federal Government if players can be given priority in the Covid-19 vaccination queue.

Australian Rugby League Commission chair Peter V’landys told the Sydney Morning Herald

“Emergency workers have got to get it first and the most vulnerable have got to get it first… who is after that? Well, that’s where we come in.”

Cricket Australia confirmed last week it has already made inquiries for it’s players to get the jabs before they head off to South Africa.

CEO of the Australian Olympic Committee, Matt Carroll, told Perth Live on Friday his athletes are not looking for any special treatment ahead of the Tokyo Games.

6PR’s Oliver Peterson says allowing athletes to jump queue sends the wrong message.

“If you have to hub again in 2021 – suck it up”.

“There are thousands of FIFO workers who have made and continue to make enormous sacrifices to be separated from their family members”.
