Should truckies be tested for COVID-19 at the WA border?

The head of the peak body for WA truckies says they’re not getting enough credit for what they’re doing during the coronavirus pandemic.

There’s concern truck drivers coming into WA from the eastern states could bring in COVID-19.

But boss of the Western Roads Federation Cam Dumesny told Gareth Parker on Mornings the idea that truckies could spread the disease is overplayed.

A proposal which would see the drivers face regular testing will be put to National Cabinet on Friday.

Mr Dumesny says being tested at the border isn’t practical, so drivers would get the test at their home depot.
