Should Jet Skis be allowed north of Windan Bridge?

If you’ve been out for a day on the river in Maylands you’ve probably noticed a lack of powered vehicles on the Swan.

Personal watercraft have not been allowed North of the Graham Farmer Freeway’s Windan Bridge, leaving an area for kayaking, rowing and other unpowered weekend activities.

But that could change, with the Department of Transport looking at whether jet skis and personal watercraft should be allowed as part of a 2 year trial.

 

Paddle WA’s Executive Officer, Rosalie Evans, joined The Weekend to explain how it could change one of the swan rivers most popular weekend spots.
