Royal Show stays

Millsy & Karl

The Perth Royal Show has been a part of WA tradition for decades and many of us have memories of patting animals, show bags, Sideshow Alley and getting sick from going on the rides or eating too many lollies from the show bags and it will stay the same for years to come according to the Show boss.

The Perth Royal Show has been losing money for years and plenty of people have suggested a change of venue from the historic Claremont Showgrounds or a change of time from the September school holidays may help, but the chief exective says the Royal Show will go on as it has.

“A lot of people think that us as the Royal Agricultural Society that we’re killing it, we’re making millions of dollars putting on the Perth Royal Show, which has never been the case. It’s a community event,” Mr Cooper told 6PR Breakfast.
