Royal Show decline

Millsy & Karl

Last year the Perth Royal Show lost $1.7 million and had an attendance of just over 311,000 for the week and the organisers say the rain is to blame.

Royal Agricultural Society CEO Peter Cooper says rain during the week of the Show and a year full of drought for farmers effected the numbers.

Some feedback to 6PR suggested entry price along with the additional prices inside are too much for the average family.
“From our perspective we’d like to see the best efforts we can to keep at a reasonable entry price considering the amount of entertainment and the amount of interactive exhibits that we put on display and we do that at no cost to the public when they’re there,” Mr Cooper replied.

Our listeners had there say and wanted to keep a lot of the older style entertainment events like wood chopping.
