Rogue tow-truck companies are taking advantage of vulnerable drivers and charging extreme prices according to the Insurance Commission of WA.

Towing companies could soon come under the microscope after a submission was made to paliament to crack down on those doing the wrong thing.

“People should be aware of what they’re paying and if you’re involved in a crash to make sure you’re aware if your insurer has a specific tow truck company rather than just going with one that may arrive at the scene,” Kane Blackman, secretary of the ICWA, told 6PR Breakfast.
