Perth roads could soon be turned to streets of gold with Federal infrastructure planners suggesting WA roads need tolls.

“At some point we’re going to have to start charging for vehicle use, because at the moment the fuel is what pays for most of our roads and I’ve got a hybrid so I only pay half now because my fuel use is a lot less and when you get electric vehicles, I’ll pay nothing,” sustainability expert from Curtin University Peter Newman told 6PR Breakfast.
