Restrictions lifted but the rush isn’t on… yet

Venues across Perth appear to be experiencing a quiet reopening today – with the partial easing of virus-related restrictions.

Up to 20 dine in patrons are again allowed at pubs – cafes and restaurants – while some bigger venues say it’s not financially viable to reopen – others say they’ll be able to continue to keep staff on.

Mornings host Gareth Parker took listeners on a whip around town, taking the temperature of what, if anything, was back to normal.

Reporter Lindsay Brennan was at the Scarborough Esplanade – where it appears the Wild Fig is the only venue offering dine-in.

Meanwhile, workers in the CBD have not flocked back to work with foot traffic considerably down on what it would be normally according to Mornings producer Sophie Hawkins.
