Religious Discrimination bill changes

The Long Lunch

The definition of a religious body that will be able to hire and fire staff will be expanded.

It’s part of 11 changes that have been put forward to deal with religious discrimination.

It means schools, hospitals and aged-care facilities can employ people based on their faith.

The federal government is hoping the legislation can be dealt with early next year.

Oliver Peterson spoke with Australian Christian Lobby chief political officer Dan Flynn and  Equality Australia spokesperson Paige Burton.
