Red Dog Highway?

Millsy & Karl

While in Dampier, Steve Mills, noticed many statues of Red Dog throughout the town, so he caught up with the vet of the real Red Dog.

Dr Rick Fenny looked after the famous dog who traveled alone on long treks and inspired two movies. Dr Fenny was an adviser for the movies and is currently working on a TV series.

He also told 6PR Breakfast he would love to have a local road named after the beloved dog.
“When they eventually seal this road between Karratha and Tom Price, or even before it’s sealed, I’d love for that to be called ‘Red Dog Highway’.”

A response was quickly given that the government would look very positively to the name ‘Red Dog Highway’.
