The State Bushfire Volunteers President is calling WA the leader in bush fire mitigation.

Dave Gossage believes the extra funding to Parks and Wildlife has meant WA has been able to prevent major fuel loads building up.

Mr Gossage told Oliver Peterson it’s important to allow proper burn offs to be performed.

He also explained how to become a volunteer firefighter.
