A Perth man’s been caught up in a fight between his insurer and a tow-truck company.

Specialised Tilt and Towing towed his car following a crash on the Kwinana Freeway last month… but RAC is refusing to pay for the car to be taken to a panel-beater claiming the towing company’s bill is far higher than the industry standard.

The man’s mother Tammy – says she wants to know why the company would accept the job, knowing they’re in a dispute with RAC.

Specialised Tilt and Towing says they’ve taken legal action against RAC but maintain they need to keep accepting jobs in the meantime to keep the business going.

RAC’s General Manager Corporate Affairs says the RAC is concerned about raising costs of towing across the industry and refuted Specialised Tilt and Towing’s claims that they haven’t increased their costs.
