On the hunt for black swans
The black swan has been associated with WA for many years and now the National Museum wants your memorabilia.
A new gallery dedicated to the environmental history of Australia is set to be opened by 2020 at the National Museum of Australia and your plate, spoon, tea towel or even photo of a black swan could be featured in the gallery.
“We know that in Western Australia the black swan is something that has been used over the years as a representation of the State so we’re interested in exploring that in more detail,” Stephen Munro, the curator at the National Museum of Australia told Steve and Baz.
Our listeners called in with their household items featuring the black swan and asked Mr Munro if the museum would be interested.
