My Senior Gap Year

After the sudden death of his wife, Chris Herrmann made the life changing decision to take a gap year at what would’ve previously been retirement age.

He booked an around the world ticket and embarked on an adventure that inevitably led him to reassess the possibilities of life after 60.

Mr Herrmann detailed his experiences, from staying in hostels to learning another language in his autobiography, My Senior Gap Year.

On the day of his book launch Chris spoke to Mr Herrmann and the Minister for Aged Care and Indigenous Health Ken Wyatt, who also took a ‘senior gap year’ before successfully venturing into politics.
