More pain at the bowser for motorists

Motorists could face soaring fuel prices if tensions between the US and Iran don’t improve.

The price of oil has spiked to its highest since September, following the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in an air strike last week.

Motor Trades Association WA CEO Stephen Moir told Jo McManus the prices shouldn’t start to increase for about another fortnight.

“Any retailer or distributor who seeks to take advantage of the situation by putting the prices up immediately is not playing fair.

“Consumers deserve better than that.”
