Lions shock reigning premiers with Round 1 upset

It was a rough 1st round for the West Coast Eagles, seeing the reigning premiers go down to a 44 point lose, 15.12 (102) to 8.10 (58), to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba last Saturday night.

The loss was the biggest Round 1 loss by a AFL reigning premier since Richmond went down to Carlton with a 62 point lose way back in 1981. It’s also the first time  since Round 10, 2012 that the Lions have defeated the Eagles.

West Coast defender Liam Duggan shares his thoughts about what went wrong on the weekend & how the rest of the team felt with the shocking upset loss.

West Coast host GWS at Optus Stadium this Saturday 5:10pm AWST
