‘It defies logic’: Serious concerns over booze barn in Como

A seven-year battle to build a Dan Murphy’s at the Como Hotel site in Como has local residents very concerned. The Liquor Commission has granted approval for the development but residents are concerned about traffic issues it would bring on Canning Hwy and South Terrace. City of South Perth Residents Association chairwoman Cecilia Brooke told Gareth Parker significant work would need to be done to make the area safe for pedestrians, buses and cars given the increased traffic.

Labor MLC Kate Doust says the decision to approve the project defies logic and says serious questions need to be answered about the project given the opposition to it is bipartisan.
