Is the AstraZeneca vaccine safe for older people?

Germany is suggesting the AstraZeneca vaccine should not be used on people over the age of 65.

Scientists say there is insufficient evidence in the trials and that more research is needed before older people get the jab.

But the UK disagrees – maintaining it produces a good immune response in all age groups.

Editor-in-Chief at the Medical Journal of Australia Professor Nick Talley told 6PR’s Oliver Peterson “we’re going to have to wait for new data but it is concerning”.
