Huawei concerns in Perth

Government documents have revealed the currently under construction Huawei’s mobile data network for Perth’s public trains, could be used for CCTV, live tracking of personnel and assets plus support body worn cameras.

Last year Premier Mark McGowan said the Chinese telecommunications giant network was “a closed system to provide communications between train drivers and their headquarters”.

Shadow minister for integrity and procurement Tjorn Sibma discusses the oppositions concerns for the project and if the public should trust the technology.
