High Court rules in favour of releasing the ‘Palace Papers’

The High Court has ruled the so-called ‘Palace Letters’ on the 1975 dismissal of the Whitlam Government will be made public in an historic decision.

Correspondence between then Governor General John Kerr and Buckingham Palace on the had previously been considered ‘personal’.

But an Australian historian has won her legal battle to have them released.

Jenny Hocking told Gareth Parker on Mornings says it will be fascinating to read what the Governor General said.
