With the Morrison Government announcing a further one and a half billion dollars in support for local and international Covid19 vaccine programs, the search for a safe, easily distributed vaccine is well and truly in motion.

Speaking to Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, Professor of Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales, Mary-Louise McLaws, revealed that as 80% of clinical vaccines fail, the increase in funding was a case of ‘bet hedging’ in the global search to back a winner.
