There is push behind the scenes to move the scheduled Test between Australia and Afghanistan from Optus Stadium to the WACA.

Cricket Australia has penciled in the Test for November 21-25 as a day-night match, however Optus Stadium wants to keep its options open as Victoria tries to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Events that have caught the eye of the stadium include the Bledisloe Cup, the Boxing Day Test and State of Origin.

The WACA is reluctant to host the Afghanistan Test due to the costs of hosting international cricket.
