The head of the state’s Motor Trades Association says we should see a plunge in global oil prices trickle through to even more savings at the petrol bowser.

The price of crude has plummeted to historic lows with the West Texas Intermediate reaching trading prices as low as -US$37 a barrel.

This is the first time oil futures have collapsed to below zero.

MTA WA chief Stephen Moir says he’s expecting unleaded prices in Perth to drop to around 70 cents a litre in the next few weeks with the potential for diesel prices to also be affected.
