Dog act – pooches banned from northern suburbs cafe

A Padbury cafe owner is disappointed the local council has advised them dogs are no longer allowed in the queue for take-away coffee.

This stems from a complaint made to the City of Joondalup because a dog placed its paw inside the door of cafe Alex Junior as the owner reached inside to collect their coffee.

Alex Junior co-owner Steve Litas told Oliver Peterson he understands the law and animals can’t be where food is served but this is bureaucracy gone mad.

“Our vision is as much as abiding by law, is we want to have some open mindedness from the council.

“Could there be some flexibility, could we change it up so we have a more innovate approach to the way the service of food is approached.”
