Coronavirus silver lining will be a stronger manufacturing sector in Australia

The head of the National COVID Coordination Commission believes Australia will come out of the current crisis – with a stronger local manufacturing sector.

Nev Power was appointed chair of the Commission – coordinating the efforts of the public and private sectors in dealing with the various issues arising from the outbreak.

He admits the crisis has exposed vulnerabilities in our supply chains.

Mr Power told Gareth Parker on Mornings the Commission is working with the Department of industry – looking at manufacturing competitiveness in the longer term.
