‘Complete disbelief’: Curtin researcher Dr Adam Cross discovers thousands of extremely rare carnivorous plants

Curtin researcher Adam Cross had spent the last decade searching for a rare carnivorous water plant in swamps and billabongs across northern Australia.

Earlier this year, Dr Cross came across the largest population of the Aldrovanda vesiculosa ever found in Australia in a remote Kimberly billabong. The discovery happened by complete chance.

He joins Jane to talk about the rare flytrap plant, biodiversity in Australia and all things botany.
