Colin Barnett wishes Honey well

Last week, 6PR Breakfast’s Rumour File revealed former Premier, Colin Barnett, did not have tickets to the first AFL game at Optus Stadium so some of the listeners offered up their tickets.

Well, on Monday morning, we received a call from Mr Barnett thanking 6PR and our listeners for their efforts to get him to the game.

“I shall be going to the first game and I’d like to thank Darren who was going to drop his mate and give his mate’s seat to me and even the guy who reckoned he had the rotten view was going to give up his seat. So thanks to your listeners and thanks to the Eagles, I’m looking forward to the game,” he told 6PR Breakfast.

Steve and Baz used the opportunity to get his thoughts on David Honey winning the seat of Cottesloe, the seat Mr Barnett held for 27 years.

“He will be an effective member of parliament from day one, so I wish him well and congratulate him; it’s a good result,” he said.
