The National Cabinet will permanently replace the Council of Australian Governments as a forum for Australia’s leaders.

The cabinet has been used throughout the Covid-19 crisis to discuss and plan how to confront the pandemic.

Future meetings between the Prime Minister and state and territory leaders will now be conducted through the body.
