Clive Palmer sets up shop in Leederville

In a bid to grow his influence in West Australian politics, Clive Palmer has positioned his new headquarters off Newcastle Street in Leederville.

The West Australian’s Paul Murray spoke with Jane about the tactics behind the Australian businessman and politician’s campaign and how he managed to secure a Senate seat for the Palmer United Party in the 2014 WA Senate election.

Mr Murray told Jane the success of Palmer’s campaign led him to question political advertising.

“Can you actually buy a place in Parliament, can you actually advertise so much that you  can convince enough people to get a place in Parliament,” Mr Murray said.
