BOTH SIDES OF THE DEBATE: Native logging in the south west

Jamie Burnett

Greens MP Diane Evers and Forest Industries Federation executive director Melissa Haslam joined Weekend Brunch to explore both sides of the debate around the logging of native trees in the South West.

Mrs Evers introduced a bill into State Parliament earlier this month to end native logging in and wind up the State-Government run Forest Products Commission.

Celebrities John Butler and Ben Elton have also expressed their concerns about logging in the region.

Mrs Haslam says the bid by the Greens is “absurd” and “ill thought-out”.
