Fremantle Docker, Hayden Ballantyne has backed up Peter Sumich’s coaching ability with the former Freo forwards coach at the top of people’s minds with some AFL roles up for grabs.

“If you play football basic, you’ll do well, I think Suma understands that. He had three principles for me when he was the forwards coach: Keep your feet, clean hands and first option,” Ballantyne told 6PR Breakfast.

“And if we did that in the forward line generally go alright. Because if you keep it simple and play on instincts then your skill will take care of the rest.”
