Aggressive charity collectors banned in Bunbury

The City of Bunbury is cracking down on charity collectors who are also known as charity muggers or “chuggers”. They are pushy and sometimes aggressive charity workers asking people in the street for money.

City of Bunbury Deputy Mayor Jaysen Miguel spoke to Oliver Peterson where he explained that banning these “chuggers” was about revitalising the CBD.

“A lot of feedback from CBD owners and shoppers was that there was a lot of pushy people around which was potentially scaring people off from their businesses and turning people off form some of the areas around town.”
