Can you believe that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the final edition of Perth’s afternoon daily paper “Daily News”?

Barry Thornton was Deputy Editor of “Daily News” and he says the staff were shattered by the news of the papers closure.  Barry wrote the editorial on the front page of the very last edition on the 11th September 1990 which he describes as a very bitter piece which had to be heavily edited by the sub editors.
