Pleas for more funds to save lives on WA’s deadly country roads

There’s a renewed plea to our Federal Government to splash more cash on WA’s regional roads, which represent a disproportionate number of fatal crashes every year.
The RAC says WA had its worst road fatality rate for five years and tragically someone is killed or seriously injured on our roads every five hours.
The RAC’s Will Golsby told Oliver Peterson, all political candidates should be making it a priority.
“Now is the time to focus on the poor regional road safety record,” he told Perth LIVE.
“Every year 60 percent of our road fatalities occur in our regions.
“Why this program is so critical is because it will save 2000 people from being killed or seriously injured.”
“This is an important life saving, job creating package for our state and that’s why it’s our highest priority.”
